Lord Ganesha, also known as Ganpati, Vinayaka, or Vighnaharta, is one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. Known for his elephant head, large ears, and pot-belly, Ganesha is the remover of obstacles, the god of beginnings, wisdom, and intellect.
Significance of Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Chaturthi is a major Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha. It usually falls between August and September. Devotees bring home idols of Ganesha, offer prayers, perform aarti, and after a few days, immerse the idol in water (visarjan), symbolizing the cycle of creation and dissolution.
